President's Letter to Membership

To the KOTA Membership,

KOTA held its annual Legislative Day event on Thursday, February  7th.  This year’s event was a huge success.  There were approximately  180 OT's, OTA’s and OT students in attendance, including students from Spalding  University, JCTCS, EKU and Brown Mackie College. Several legislators  joined KOTA for lunch including Senator Jared Edwards from Berea and  Representative Ben Wade from Madisonville.  They spoke to our group about  the importance of communicating with our legislators regarding political issues  that impact our lives and our profession. The Legislative Day event  inspired fifteen individuals to become members of KOTA.  We currently have  four hundred and three members. The upcoming KOTA Student Conference  will be held on Saturday March 2nd at Spalding University in  Louisville.  Christine Myers and several others have dedicated much time to  organize this year’s student conference.  There are many good speakers who  are presenting on a variety of topics.  Please see the student conference  advertisement on the KOTA website. Your KOTA membership is valued!   If you have suggestions of ways KOTA can better serve you as a member, please  contact me at dpjlynn@bellsouth.net or via text or  phone at (270) 302-9795.
Sincerely,
Dale E. Lynn
KOTA  President
